Job Description

The role will heavily support the trust in keeping the trust safe in the fight against coronavirus with issuing and collecting test kits to key staff and logging personal details of each individual to a central database.

You will transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners, covering the following areas:

  • Type in data provided directly from staff
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.

You will be working in teams on rotation (Ideally teams of 4), sharing duties from data entry to distribution around each hospital location. – Manchester Royal Infirmary, Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital.

Please note:
PPE will be provided

You will need access to transport as you may need to travel in between hospital sites.

Local context training information will be provided covering the following:

  • Issuing of tests to each ward / department.
  • Collecting completed tests from individual staff members at the drop off point(s), recording relevant information on to internal database and sticking on bar codes
  • Possible – taking completed swabs to a central collection point (Oxford Road only)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good communication skills. Great attention to detail. Experience of working with data. Microsoft packages. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Ability to work at speed but without sacrificing accuracy. Previous experience of data entry.
