Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • To produce Test Plans for simple testing requirements, seeking clarification about requirements where required and contribute to overall Test Plans for more complex requirements.
  • To develop detailed Test Cases and Test Scripts, including expected results, for simple or moderate requirements, in line with the Test Strategy.
  • To create test data for simple testing requirements.
  • To execute testing with support if required on more complex scenarios.
  • To document and verify test results.
  • To raise and record details of incidents encountered during testing.
  • To use testing tools, as required.
  • To produce Test Reports for simple testing requirements and contribute to overall Test Reports for moderate requirements and ensure best practice information is captured for continuous improvement.
  • To report progress and issues in a timely manner as defined in the Test Plan and the agreed team organisation. In particular, to relay issues that might impact on quality or the ability to complete tests according to plan and to proactively seek appropriate solutions.
  • To maintain and develop knowledge, skills and competencies in testing process and tools.
  • Deliver the payroll processing and reconciliation service to the highest quality for employees, line managers, and ultimately clients, adhering to service measures and seeking to secure the required business outcomes.
  • Ensure any errors/issues in respect of payroll reconciliation accounts are investigated and cleared in line with the agreed timescales
  • Support the payroll team - motivate, inspire and advise the team members and encourage them through effective communication.
  • Complete quality checks to the appropriate agreed level, highlight any errors, provide feedback and support in one to ones.
  • Provide support to SSCL Payroll Team by taking ownership of queries handed to your team for resolution, communicating directly with the employee/client when required.
  • Collect and provide statistical data / reports as required.
  • Work as one team across the full range of payroll teams, to ensure all key deliverables of the payroll service are met.


Essential Skills

  • Experience of delivering payroll or Experience of testing, or complicated problem solving.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels - within a team setting, over the telephone and in writing.
  • Effective team player, who displays commitment and flexibility.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.

 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience using Oracle systems
