Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant to establish new practices to increase efficiency whilst giving the management team the insight they require on all aspects of the company’s finances.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monthly management reports to assess the overall monthly financial performance.
  • Financial Statements including working alongside the company’s external accountant to finalise the FS and action any queries.
  • Preparation and submissions of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Weekly and monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Reporting on KPI’s and operational efficiencies.
  • Analysis of profitability and performance.
  • Accounts payable - posting purchase invoices, payment prioritising, AP ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain the Sales and Purchase Ledger.
  • Manage credit note process.
  • Manage the weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Ensure HMRC payments are made on time.
  • Manage company expenses and petty cash.
  • Manage and develop junior members of staff as the department expands.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record within an SME environment. You must be pro-active, conscientious with a high level of attention to detail.

Our client is offering a competitive salary up £38,000- £40,000
