Job Description

Your daily duties will be to ensure that the daily accounting function is ran smoothly. You will report into the Company Finance Director and be responsible for the Assistant Accountant.

Your duties will range from managing the Care homes, Estates and apartment rental business. Maintain daily relationships with Banks and handling all banking transactions. Covering for the Assistant Accountant during times of absence. Assisting the Directors with personal banking.

You will have a sound accounting background and be able to pick up systems and processes quickly. Good knowledge of all MS Office packages especially Excel. Knowledge of VAT. Able to work well in a small team.

Experience within Health and Social Care sector would be an advantage.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

Deliver high quality monthly financial reports for the management team and Directors

Primary contact point for all Finance related matters and liasing with the external payroll office

Process Improvement & Control (balance sheet ownership, relentless innovation of internal controls, systems and processes, using technology to automate)

Tax & Treasury Support (Corporate Tax, VAT returns, bank reporting)

Support the team with ad hoc project work

The qualifications of the Financial Accountant:

  • ACA/ ACCA (or equivalent) newly qualified
  • Good knowledge of excel
  • Great at innovating systems, optimising and automating processes
  • Personable and effective communicator
  • Solid understanding of Corporation Tax and VAT
  • Positive approach, thrives on change
  • Keen to grow and develop their career and aspire to achieve bigger and better things
