Job Description

The Senior Accountant is a newly created position, with a remit to support the Financial Controller across a variety of technical and commercial accounting duties. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function, alongside providing support to wider business including the commercial and operational teams.

An outline of the duties is as follows:

• Prepare detailed monthly performance and position reporting.
• Preparation of monthly reporting packs.
• Act as a Business Partner to provide financial and decision support for the business and assist in the development of customer margin analysis.
• Collate payroll information and complete checks prior submission to outsourced payroll provider.
• Ensure controls and processes are in place to capture the transactions of the business appropriately and accurately
• Maintain and update daily cashflow reporting and forecasting
• Support all compliance needs for Audit, VAT, Corporation tax, pensions, and insurance
• Preparation of quarterly VAT submission and monthly intrastat lodgements.
• Assist with the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
• Contribute to ongoing process and procedural improvement.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be able to take an active role in developing the business ERP system, alongside taking ownership of a few key improvement projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A formal qualification (ACA or ACCA) with previous training in practice being beneficial. Excel Skills, with the ability to produce pivot tables and create models. Solid technical knowledge, yet with a commercially aware mindset. A proven track record of delivering key financial information to deadlines. Excellent team working abilities.
