Job Description

We are looking to recruit two Assessment Administrators to join Assessment Management, a department of Education Management. Assessment Management consists of four teams, Operations, Systems, Standards and Service. Staff work flexibly across all areas.

One role is situated in the Systems team, and the other in the Operations team. The requirements and skillset for each role is the same, and we’ll assign the team upon appointment.

The Systems team is responsible for data quality work and work testing and supporting assessment systems and their users.

The Operations team is responsible for overseeing the processing and management of assessment documentation, the running of formal examinations, including arranging invigilation provision, and maintaining coursework processes and receipting.

The Role

The primary focus of these roles will be to provide excellent administrative support for assessment activities across Manchester Metropolitan University and establishing excellent working relationships.

The successful candidate will provide guidance to students and academic staff, supported by Assessment Officers, on a wide range of assessment related issues. They will work on the production, preparation and packing of examination materials, using bespoke IT systems to ensure a thorough audit is maintained. The role will involve accurate and timely maintenance of coursework receipting systems and data, including the need to interrogate data to find patterns and resolve issues.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
We are looking for someone who will have the confidence to take responsibility for defined areas of work within Assessment Management but will also work flexibly to achieve team objectives by assisting others and working collaboratively to complete tasks and projects. You will have a keen eye for detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be able to write clearly and concisely, have a commitment to providing excellent service to staff, students and external stakeholders, and be highly organized. With a flexible approach to your work, you will be able to work both independently and as part of a highly focused team. You will work closely with colleagues in academic and Professional Service departments to ensure assessment requirements are supported and carried out in line with university standards and regulations.
