Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner the Marketing teams to deliver Financial targets
  • Prepares and leads appraisals that compare actual performance to forecasts to enable monitoring of performance; Assists line managers with preparing action plans for identified areas
  • Analyse the brand's promotional strategy
  • Play a role to drive actions through the business where appropriate
  • Develop, apply and report KPIs by which overall Commercial plan success can be judged
  • Provide visibility and track performance compared to annual plans
  • Stress test Forecast/Plan to offer challenges to the commercial teams
  • Analysis of COGS and inflation with a view to working with the Commercial team to close any SGP GAPs
  • Drive to enhance financial knowledge within the business
  • Support the wider business in developing actionable brand strategies that are account specific
  • Drive and influence the bottom up planning cycle via cascading the margin plans
  • Develop best practice within the commercial finance team to ensure standardisation and support true business partnering
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to ensure data integrity in the various business systems (SAP and Sales Planner)
  • Must recognise the importance of an internal control framework (including SOX requirements) and complies with that framework by participating in internal control reviews. Always ensure SOX Compliance
  • Assume a strong and positive role on the Commercial Team, supporting the Head of Commercial Finance in creating a cohesive, high-performing team
  • Support the wider Commercial Finance team to a model of excellent business partnering. Raise capability and lead by example
  • Ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals or teams in performing, learning and improving effectiveness
  • Up-skill all the teams' financial understanding and acumen
  • Identifies and implements ways to do things better, smarter and faster for business performance and profitability
  • Defines and implements small scale process simplification projects;
  • Oversees and administers processes and systems for own function; Integrates knowledge of systems and processes with internal and external environmental factors
  • Shares learning of process improvements with peers in other departments
  • Prioritizes opportunities to increase Sales and EBITDA; Works on projects with Sales and Marketing to boost Sales; Identifies opportunities to reduce above EBITDA costs
  • Explains the importance of working capital management; Participates in projects to improve operating cash conversion

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
University graduate, qualified accountant CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified A track record of delivery in commercial finance roles. You will be well versed in the demands of a commercial environment. Using your commercial acumen and analytical skills, you'll be a strong communicator with a very well-developed set of influencing skills Highly numerate and analytical, with good attention to detail Able to apply intellect and judgement to influence cross-functional colleagues to act on financial recommendations in commercial decisions Able to work collaboratively with peers and deliver through team members Organised, strong prioritisation skills and delivery to tight timescales Drive for results and high personal resilience Self-motivated individual with an analytical mind-set to challenge the business Mobility - travel regularly within the UK and adhoc customer meetings
