Our client is looking for a people orientated, commercial and driven Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis as they continue to develop and grow as a business.

As this is a newly created role assisting the Finance Director, you will have an important part to play in advising the Senior Team with decision making and contributing to ongoing and future plans for the business.

What will I be doing?

The successful candidate will:

• Become a business partner to relevant managers in order to provide financial support and information
• Recommend methods and strategies to cut costs as well as analysing financial performance and longer-term forecasting
• Prepare monthly the management accounts pack to include P&L, balance sheet and EBITDA Summary for 3 companies
• Update the annual forecast monthly along with preparing the commentary
• Prepare the annual budget
• Continually review and improve controls and procedures
• Be responsible for full month end procedures as well as closing month end
• Prepare financial statements for both internal and external use
• Be responsible for preparing the VAT calculations and returns
• Prepare monthly payroll
• Support the Finance Director and Senior Management with projects and assist them make upper level decisions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful candidate will be either CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalently qualified and have held similar levels of experience. You should possess strong commercial awareness with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organisation works and manages resources. You will have a lively, enquiring mind with a logical approach to work combined with analytical and problem-solving skills. Ultimately, we are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator with an attitude and passion for working as a team towards an end goal.
