Job Description

The University of Manchester are looking to appoint a Senior Finance Officer.

You will be a member of the faculty financial reporting team working under the guidance of the Management Accountant.
Your role will be to assist with the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes for assigned Schools/Directorates.

This will include (for the assigned Schools/Directorates), assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and month end activities (calculation of deferrals and accruals, preparing and inputting journals onto the accounting system, reconciliations etc.), analysis of variances to budget, inputting into future forecast and longer term financial plans and providing finance support to budget holders.

You will be customer focused, flexible in your approach, and work in conjunction with the Management Accountant and Head of Finance in order to develop and enhance your role.
