This role is a Senior member of the team responsible for the core accounting of the Retail business, being the engine room for timely production of management information. The Senior Management Accounatnt is a critical role enhancing the analytical and reporting capabilities of finance and helping transform the business to deliver the PE strategy. Will play a key part in leading the team and setting finance ambition.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Management and improvement of the finance processes for timely production of accurate financial reports and forecasts including management accounts and cashflow forecasting.
Challenge achievement of the business results through detailed analytical methods including revenue and cost centre variance reporting.
Ensure that the extensive retail estate and fixed asset related transactions are properly controlled, recorded and reported, including any variances within these transactions to budget & forecast.
Provide management insight in preparing detailed management accounts and board pack commentaries covering income statement, balance sheet and cashflow.
Implement Group accounting policies, internal controls and other requirements. Own identification and resolution of potential financial control weaknesses in finance processes.
Work collaboratively with members of the Business Partner community to promote and share business partnering ideas, learnings, experiences and best practice.
Continuous development of an up and coming Management Accounts Team whilst they progress through their own accountancy qualifications.
