Job Description

Supporting the site accountant in delivering all financial and management accounting activities, working with the site accountant on gaining greater understanding & explanations of the financial numbers, in order to challenge the site & drive performance. This role will be required to take lead on some tasks & initiatives to report to the site accountant on progress and improvements that are made

The key accountabilities for this role are;

• Ensuring accurate reporting & analysis of weekly & monthly financial results
• Carrying out Monthly SOX reporting to ensure site compliance
• Building a pack of reporting to validate financial transactions in the general ledger including Sales/Procurement/Stock Issues
• Setting up and running of daily accounts to gain a better understanding of financial results
• Supporting the Site Accountant in budgeting & forecasting process’
• Working with the Site Accountant on the development of new Operational Financial Performance reporting in order to challenge & drive performance of the site
• Championing at site for overhead reduction, reporting & control – challenge budget holders & hold regular meetings with stakeholders
• Providing financial support & tracking for all new site projects & initiatives
• Supporting the finance team on day to day activities in the role as number 2 to the site accountant

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Our perfect candidate will have a strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel, be AAT Qualified or working towards CIMA / ACCA qualification, a good knowledge of Financial Reporting & Analysis with an understanding of the link between finance and operations. Some previous experience of working with manufacturing systems is desirable as is a knowledge of SAP.
