Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking entry into the environment sector in an administrative capacity.
Key Job Accountabilities:
• The post holder will:
• Provide general administrative support to deliver the Strategic Projects programme and projects. Follow all project administrative systems and monitoring requirements.
• Organise meetings, team travel and accommodation. Provide practical assistance during meetings and help produce minutes and other necessary records.
• Assist with financial management, recording and monitoring.
• Assist with purchases and procurements.
• Assist the team with data entry and data management, production of reports and other documents.
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and partner organisations to minimise duplication and share best practise.
• Handle and respond to basic customer inquiries.
• Undertake a programme of training and development.
The post is primarily office-based but will require some travel to locations around Wales.
Key Job Qualifications or Knowledge:
• Good ICT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Good programme and project administrative skills.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills with a customer focus. Ability to build effective working relationship with colleagues and partners.
Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and deliver results to timescales.

You will gather, collect, check, validate and accurately record data for the use by others.
You will undertake work and tasks that has the potential to impact on third parties if inaccurate or incorrect.

You will resolve problems that arise by applying initiative and judgement.
You will take responsibility for the safe and effective use of equipment and information.
You will provide guidance to new or temporary employees.

You will work with colleagues carrying out similar and different aspects of the work, which may include leading on some specific tasks requiring you to give clear guidance or instruction to others.
You will have contact with the general public and third parties to provide and exchange information.
Where you will be working
Your role will be primarily office based but may entail travel between different locations, as well as working at partner organisations and other premises.

You are responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions undertaken by yourself represent value for money and meet the requirements of the organisation.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have previous practical work experience and gained a reasonable level of administrative competence. You will be able to understand and follow policies and procedures. You will have good communication, literacy, numeracy and IT skills and an understanding of health and safety requirements and the implications in relation to work activity. You do not require any specific academic or technical qualifications, but it is expected that you will have achieved a reasonable standard of education equivalent to Level 2 of the Credit & Qualifications Framework for Wales, which may have included some element of study of an administrative/ business support discipline, or you will have the equivalent level of knowledge. You will be required to complete on the job training to comply with any statutory regulations relating to your work, such and those related to health and safety.
