Job Description

We are looking for a talented finance manager to manage and take ownership of end to end Fixed Assets / CAPEX process, intercompany accounting, integrity of the Fixed asset register (FAR) fixed asset verification work, balance sheet management, development, review and reporting and the management and development of a team of 3.

What you'll be doing:
Fixed assets & Intercompany Ownership of and development of end to end CAPEX process, from CAPEX approvals to Fixed Asset capitalization. Identify weaknesses in current practice and develop the process working with business partners. Responsible for interrogating and challenging capex spend/budget requests, to ensure the businesses compliance to accounting policy and review & approve capex requests own the annual asset verification program, ensure all assets are verified over a rolling period and adhere to the fixed asset verification policy. Identify weaknesses in current practice and develop the process Budgeting & forecasting depreciation Ensure leased assets are accounted for correctly under IFRS 16 accounting standard. Own, manage and develop the process Ensure the accounting policies relating to FA are up to date, update as appropriate. Deliver fully supported notes to the Year End accounts Ensure monthly processes, including monthly settlement to assets under construction (AUCs), accounting for depreciation, asset disposals & impairments, and other month end processes are completed to a high standard. Ownership of and development of the accounting for intercompany transactions across all Premier companies.
Managing both internal and external auditors’ requests
providing support and cover for other members of the team and the wider RTR team.

Balance Sheet Reporting
Ensure that all Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed on time, comply with agreed standards, fully investigate variances and improve internal controls & processes. Reporting and communication of balance sheet opportunities and risks Develop current process

People Leadership Co-ordinate, manage and develop the work of the team to deliver KPIs, maximize effectiveness and contribution to the wider business Develop, coach and motivate individuals in the team Effectively manage and identify development requirements for associates Lead the continuous improvement agenda with the team Review services, role structure and accountabilities to ensure team is structured efficiently

Customer Service & Stakeholder Relationships Review and develop current services provided to the business Strong focus on customer service, provide agreed level of service to the business and external customers Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders Ensure delivery of consistent, accurate and timely information to the business with records maintained for internal and external reporting requirements Improve customer service quality and relationships

Process Improvement
Driving continual improvement both within the team and across the business Pro-actively identify, research and recommend improvements to systems and processes within the team to ensure efficient and effective business operations. Testing and implementation of changes once approved Provide subject matter expertise on strategic initiatives that impact the area

Control & Compliance Ensure appropriate controls are implemented and process and procedures are compliant with legal and audit requirements Ensure all process documentation up to date and reviewed on regular basis Ensure compliance to accounting and other relevant standards

Projects Lead and drive ad hoc projects identified in RTR to completion, including robotics process for balance sheet recs and journal posting


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Sound demonstration of accounting knowledge Broad finance experience People management & business partnering experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Significant process improvement experience Strong attention to detail Experience of working in a fast-paced team, delivering to tight deadlines Advanced Excel skills Desirable SAP experience FMCG experience Stock accounting experience.
