Job Description

Finance lead for Costain’s Smart Motorways Alliance contracts.

• Leading the financial management of all Costain’s contracts under the Smart Motorways Alliance, and leading on financial issues into the SMA Organization including Alliance Members
• Ownership of the financial control framework for the SMA contracts, ensuring compliance with Group policies and maintaining accurate cost capture, balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
• Working in collaboration with the Project and Commercial Managers to deliver robust commercial financial reporting, forecasting and risk management that reflects the project outturn and risk profile.
• Key member of the Scheme and SMA management teams, highlighting financial issues, risks and opportunities, contributing to the overall successful outcome of the schemes.
• Leading & managing the operational project finance teams.
• Driving efficiency and automation in financial & operational processes and acting as a champion to deliver change / best practice.

About you:

Essential

• The role requires qualified accountant with 5+ year’s post-qualified experience.
• Experience in accounting for long term contracts
• Demonstrable ability to form, lead and develop a finance team.
• Experience with risk analysis and scenario modelling
• Hands on approach to operational finance, comfortable with detail
• Able to build effective relationships at all levels across organization
• Excellent team working and strong communication skills.
• A proven track record of success in lead finance roles in project environment.
