Recent and relevant Iris knowledge (Accounts production, Business tax and Personal tax)
Working knowledge of Xero and Sage Line 50
Experience of electronic working files (ProAudit a bonus, but not essential. Need to have an understanding of the concept and process)
Minimum 4+ years experience in general practice roles
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience preparing financial accounts from a trial balance or incomplete records for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships (able to complete bank reconciliations, accruals/prepayments, control accounts and posting journals)
Experience preparing VAT returns and completing monthly/quarterly bookkeeping
Experience within a UK-based accountancy practice
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ideally qualified ACA/ACCA Senior part qualified (ACA/ACCA) or experienced QBE may be considered • Strong literacy and numerical skills • Proven double entry bookkeeping skills • Basic tax knowledge – how to do personal and corporate tax computations, PAYE, VAT • Computer experience – Sage, Excel, Word and ideally Iris • Currently working within a practice environment (4+ years’ experience) • Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards • Communication – oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments • Organised – ability to deal with a variety of tasks and managing a varied workload • Client focused • Commercially aware
