Job Description

The main responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Detailed monthly review of the CVR's including: -
  • Ensure correct cost allocation between sites
  • Fair and reasonable approach to forecast costs to complete, including monthly spend
  • Raising any issues or concerns to the executive board
  • Review of accruals
  • Monitoring the client variations and ensure the appropriate level of authorisation has been sought
  • Financial control, systems & reports
  • Audit of internal controls and processes that produce the CVR's
  • Audit of the approval process and checks made within the finance team/ QS's in respect to subcontracts and payments
  • Work with internal departments, finance, and construction to ensure a robust system in place for maintenance contracts including cost allocation/ recharging
  • Producing the PCD's for each site monthly and monitoring progress against forecast
  • Working closely with the management in developing and managing the information systems for monitoring project progress and controlling the reporting systems
  • Monitoring of cash to ensure this is managed in line with forecast
  • Retention & Rebates
  • Working closely with the senior management of the construction team and advisors, to ensure maximisation of rebates are achieved, monitored, and tracked
  • Ensure the information flow between finance and construction is done so accurately and on a timely basis
  • Working closely with the management in developing and managing the information systems for monitoring project progress and controlling the reporting systems
  • Assisting the Finance Director/ Group Financial Controller to prepare cash flows, budgets, projections etc.
  • Assisting the Finance Director in producing appraisals on new schemes and developing tools to assist/ improve this process

The working hours for this role are, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role we are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to working times.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience analysing constructional information for producing forecasts At least 3 years construction accounting experience At least intermediate and ideally advanced excel skills CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified Ideally use of Eque 2 but not essential Superb communication and analytical skills to drive through the various organisational verticals Ability to motivate the personnel in working better and realise individual and collective goals
