You will thrive in a fast-paced Payroll environment as this position is largely working on weekly employee payroll, meaning the first half of the week is always busy, to say the last! This will give you the chance to work within an engaged and successful team and use your outstanding communication and relationship building skills at all times.

YOUR DUTIES

You will join the busy Payroll team as a Payroll Clerk, and will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Throughout your role, you will resolve queries from employees and liaise with HMRC, all of which will be done in a professional and timely manner.

Your duties will include:

• Validating and inputting timesheets into the payroll system
• Processing payroll for monthly and weekly paid employees
• Validating Tax, NI, SSP, SMP and SPP calculations
• Checking net pay calculations before payment processing deadlines
• Processing starters, leavers and salary changes
• Completing payroll year end duties

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

This is a full-time, permanent position, working within a leading North-East employer, where you will receive an annual salary of between £19,000 and £21,000, depending on your level of experience.

You will work from 9.30am until 5.00pm Monday – Friday. Flexibility is essential, however, as the first part of the week is always extremely busy! Of course, you will be given time back for offering this flexible approach.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Of course, carry recent experience in a similar payroll position Have excellent IT Skills (MS Office is essential, especially using Excel and being able to produce clear, concise emails on Outlook) Have strong attention to detail and be able to work to strict deadlines Bring a flexible approach and a genuine willingness to help and support the rest of the team (the same of which will be offered to you in return)
