Job Description

About The Role

We’re recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. You’ll be joining a growing team at the Society, and will have the opportunity to take a lead role in driving commercial value at a critical time, both internally and externally.

You’ll be a key contributor to driving value add analyses, improve our processes and controls, and supporting wider teams across the Society in generating actionable insight and analyses on the critical revenue streams.

You’ll take responsibility for the monitoring, tracking of performance vs plan and forecasts on a weekly/monthly basis, providing BAU and ad-hoc analysis as governed by the reporting framework and management committees.

 

You’ll manage and maintain the Key driver process for forecasting and planning, engaging non finance teams to agree approach and constantly challenge the key driver metrics to ensure they remain relevant to meet the Society corporate agenda for “tomorrow”.

You’ll maintain business models and ready reckoners to support the FP&A team to become more agile in understanding the impact of key driver changes on performance.

There will be regular participation in business meetings to share recommendations and ideas for development of new value add analysis and you’ll engage with stakeholders to proactively identify emerging opportunities for revenue growth and risks to the Forecast.

You’ll be used to preparing detailed technical analysis and communicating the results to stakeholders in a simple and straight forward way. You’ll have advanced excel skills and enjoy working with others to solve complex technical challenges.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or working towards your qualification and you’ll have experience of modelling.  Experience with QRM and within Retail Banking preferable. You’ll be curious and want to understand how your role and activity fits and adds value in the context of Finance and the wider Society as a whole.  You’ll continually look for opportunities to develop both yourself and your team and look to step outside of the confines of your role in the support of colleagues and the Society.  You’ll engage honestly and constructively with your colleagues across the business to deliver great outcomes and ultimately cultivate an environment of collaboration, innovation and idea sharing.  You’ll demonstrate a responsible and caring attitude by getting things done, getting things right and achieving this in the right way.
