Job Description

This is an interim full-time position, to be based at Cheadle Royal Business Park covering maternity leave for 12 months. The Interim Management Accountant will report to the Head of Finance. The key purpose of this role is to deliver a professional and progressive management accounting and financial accounting function to the business, ensuring strong controls are in place in line with the company procedures and current legislation.

Key Tasks

1. Month end reports - Group

Enter all journals required for production of monthly management accounts.

Prepare monthly management accounts and group consolidated accounts pack.

Development of MI produced for management accounts, including development of financial analysis and KPI’s.

Completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

Maintenance of company fixed asset register in Navision, including development of relevant reports.

Reconcile Intercompany on a monthly basis.

2. Year-end accounts - Group

Prepare year-end accounts for all companies in the group.

Co-ordinate the work required for the year end accounts.

Liaise with the company’s external accountant throughout the preparation of the statutory year-end accounts.

3. Tax

Compile information quarterly for JV vat returns and Mansion Group with the approval of the head of finance.

Work with company accountants to prepare and submit corporation tax returns for all group companies.

Complete and submit VAT return for the service charge companies to the owners’ administrators for processing and liaise with the property owners’ administrators on any tax queries.

4. Budget

Co-ordinate and collate all information required for the group budgets

Assist the Head of Finance in preparation of the annual budget and reforecast.

Upload budget on accounting software for future comparisons and tracking.

5. Acquisitions/ Disposals

Ensure new companies are set up in the accounting software.

Review completion statements for acquired sites for accuracy

Ensure rent is paid across from seller on acquisition and reconciled accordingly

Prepare completion statements for disposed properties

6. Other

Assist Head of Finance with completion statement for property acquisitions

Provide holiday cover for the Head of Finance

Contribute to any other business project teams as directed by the CEO and Head of Finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified CIMA, ACCA. Educated to degree level or equivalent. Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong excel skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Adaptable to most accounting systems. Must keep technically up to date with latest Accounting standards, Tax and VAT changes.
