Job Description

We are supporting a retained client in appointing their next dedicated financial leader with promotional opportunity to Finance Director being the end goal. This thriving family-run business is a leader in its industry with a host of blue chip named clients. As an established business for over five decades, they continue to see a steady growth pattern, with a turnover increase of over £5mil in recent years.

We are looking for a successor to the Finance Director, who will prove to be as loyal and dedicated a team member as he has been. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for all the company’s finance and accounting activities, including overseeing productions of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and supporting commentary
  • Deliver accessible management information and high-quality board reports, supported by effective KPIs which enhance decision making
  • Building and managing external relationships, in particular banks and auditors
  • Creating supportive and trusted relationships with the family and departments across all areas of the organization
  • A hands-on approach leading, developing and supporting a small accounts department

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a successful long-term track record in a finance role within a business of similar dynamic. Be a strong manager of people, with the ability to take a step back, delegate and develop team members. Have the ability to promote gradual change and its benefits, through positive influence. Be capable of evaluating problems and delivering solutions both in finance and across other functions. Be open, trustworthy, honest and have a high degree of integrity with the adaptability to thrive within the family culture of the business.
