Job Description

Job Purpose

Leadership of timely reporting and insightful analysis, creating processes and policies to improve operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Responsibilities

Forecasting & Budgets

  • Reporting and preparation of weekly, monthly, 12 month rolling forecasts
  • Daily Sales and Depot forecasting, includes knowledge sharing and understanding across organisation
  • Annual Budgeting preparation and review as well as regular forecast updates
  • Prepare, co-ordinate and review weekly forecasting for submission to Senior Management team and Group

Commercial Reporting

  • Support development of and produce meaningful business reporting for sales, purchasing and P&L
  • Variance analysis and reporting - building commercial awareness across the business
  • Value add commercial analysis including reporting packs for depots
  • Responsible for regular commercial review of the company & depot results, with a strategic view to help drive improvements in both process and performance

Pricing

  • Management and review of contracts ensuring optimal purchasing decisions and adherence to terms
  • Commercial and financial support to the business advising on purchasing options daily

Cash Flow

  • Responsible for Cash Flow Reporting and Management
  • Consolidation of company forecasts from all areas of the business
  • Financial modelling and improvement of reporting and analysis

Month End

  • Review P&L performance, identify any accounting entry corrections
  • Variance analysis and commentary
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations to the designated timetable

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential Qualified accountant either CIMA, ACCA or ACA Financial & Commercial acumen Commercial / Business analysis and partnering experience Confident handling a high volume of data Excellent IT and Excel skills and the ability to learn - Microsoft packages essential Analytical expertise in understanding complex issues and problem solving High level of Attention to Detail High degree of personal motivation and a determination to succeed Excellent communication skills; written and verbal Ability to work under pressure Flexibility and Adaptability to changing priorities Strong team player Ability to handle a high volume of work and to manage your time accordingly Desirable Experience of Cognos TM Working in a sales, manufacturing or distribution environment In return you will be offered a Highly Competitive Salary/Benefits Package plus excellent career prospects.
