Job Description

All about you

We are seeking an energetic, diligent and organized individual who is looking to grow with a busy practice.

As a senior level accountant, you will know your accounting and tax rules thoroughly and find the challenge of small-to-medium sized business accounts enjoyable to perfect.

With an aptitude for advising clients on business development, you will understand how a business grows and the accountant’s role in supporting that growth.

As an aspiring accounts team manager, you will be willing to develop your skills and experiences further. You will be a highly personable professional, resourceful and have a can-do attitude.

The role

  • Preparation / review of annual accounts for all sizes of businesses in line with agreed KPI's
  • Preparation of management accounts at monthly / quarterly intervals for growing clients
  • Preparation of Corporation tax and Income tax computations and returns
  • Managing, training and providing support / feedback for junior staff
  • Attend client meetings as required
  • To ensure the business strives for efficiency and cost-effective operations, you will be motivated to carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes.
  • Diligently respond to client queries
  • Perform ad hoc bookkeeping and have knowledge of payroll systems – for times when we all need to get stuck in.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Accounting Practice: 5 years (Preferred)
  • QuickBooks: 2 years (Preferred)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have at least 5 years practice accounts preparation and tax experience. You will have completed an industry qualification e.g. AAT/ACCA/ACA, or QBE. Able to manage own time effectively to ensure jobs are completed in accordance with statutory deadlines and customer guarantees. You will work accurately, helping to deliver a first-class customer service. With experience dealing with a range of customer types and industries, you will have a good resourceful approach to respond to their needs. You work quickly, whilst holding an attention to detail, and bring about your problem-solving skills to support customer issues and the business objectives. Good workflow management and process improvement skills. Analytical skills to highlight issues and suggest solutions. Proactive communication and good writing style. Highly proficient working with online packages; Office 365, cloud accounting solutions, preferably QuickBooks. Working at ease with new software, you will have an aptitude for online and digital forward-thinking. Driving license and access to vehicle.
