Job Duties
This role supports the finance activities of the business and manages the day to day transaction processing activities and support for the management accounts. Roles will include:

  • To undertake all day-to-day operational finance activities including ledger postings, account reconciliations and inter-company accounting
  • Accounts receivable invoicing and reconciliations (there are a limited number of sales invoices raised on a monthly and quarterly basis)
  • To produce VAT postings and manage VAT reporting
  • To prepare monthly CIS returns and CIS reporting
  • To prepare Office for National Statistics returns and other regulatory returns as required
  • Maintain master data for suppliers
  • To assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and accounts analysis
  • To manage the day to day operational relationship with the bank including monitoring the bank accounts, ensuring bank mandates are kept up to date etc.

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified accountant or with experience of accounting roles
  • Track record and experience
  • Experience of accounts reconciliations and regulatory returns (VAT, CIS etc)
  • Knowledge of property or construction businesses an advantage
  • Knowledge of COINS accounting system an advantage
  • Skills/ Attributes:
  • An ability to work in a start-up environment and establish processes and controls
  • An ability to work in an agile way
  • An understanding of the corporate environment and ability to work to Group deadlines
  • An attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter
