The Role:

The role is client facing, so strong communication skills are essential. You will be involved in a variety of duties and compliance to help run and support the finance function of your clients. The work means you will gain a much broader deeper understanding of how to support modern businesses.

Purpose: To be the trusted adviser to a portfolio of clients, providing a robust finance function with the inclusion of the wider MAP team.

Your duties will include:

  • Raising clients’ sales invoices and emailing these to Customers via Xero
  • Maintaining purchase ledgers (with the use of Receipt Bank) and managing supplier payments (where specified by client)
  • Handling staff expense claims, ensuring that these are approved by the appropriate manager within the business, then handling physical payments (where specified by client)
  • Bank/credit card reconciliation in Xero
  • Continuously automating all of the above to ensure that the client is as efficient as possible
  • Adhoc credit control duties where required
  • Managing own workload, planning and managing jobs and tasks to ensure great service outcomes and peace of mind for the client
  • Providing support to Client Managers by keeping everything up to date and ensuring that all month/year end Balance Sheet items are fully explained and justified (e.g. year end bank statement copies provided to Client Managers)
  • Monthly preparation and submission of VAT Returns
  • Maintain the relationships with a small portfolio of clients

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
AAT Level 4 Qualified. 2 year minimum Accountancy Practice experience. Exposure to cloud accounting software such as Xero and Receipt Bank (Desirable to be certified on both or another Cloud Accounting Software). Experienced in managing client relationships. Passionate about compliance work. Competent in preparing and filing VAT returns.
