Job Description

Our client is a public services organization and due to a restructure and ongoing change in the organization and finance department we are seeking an Accountant to undertake a 6-month role.

You will be either a part-qualified accountant or have proven experience of working in a financial accounting role in a regulated environment and your duties will include:

• Play a pivotal role in the closure of the Authority’s Annual Statement of Accounts
• Liaise with the external auditor and have a strong background working with financial statements (preferably in the public sector)
• Develop long term solutions based on financial analysis
• Improve financial monitoring systems and financial awareness within the organization

Contract length: 6 months

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

It is essential you have strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to be able to establish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of accounting policies and procedures alongside an appreciation and application of the CIPFA Code of practice in order to deliver a compliant set of financial statements.
