Financial Accountant - About The Role

An expanding international business-services organisation with a growing portfolio of key business clients. You will form part of an established and well-respected finance function for the UK part of this business.

Reporting to the UK Financial Controller the Financial Accountant will maintain the accuracy of UK Accounts and compliance with the internal and external reporting requirements of the ledgers. You will ensure that all measures are met in line with SOX compliance for internal and external audit purposes. This client is looking to appoint someone that either has the experience or capacity to take responsibility of managing the team in the near future. You will have an aspiration to develop your career beyond this role of Financial Accountant.
This position will enable you to work in an established but effective small team providing support to the FC, FD andwider business functions.

You will initially be involved in the following areas:

• Developing the Accounting function, enhancing processing efficiency and internal controls which will improve control of the UK business
• Supporting the Month End Reporting within the Group timetable
• Preparing or reviewing monthly accounts reconciliations according to Group requirements;
• Assisting with the preparation of the statutory reporting, including liaising with the Auditors;
• Governance of the master data in the financial systems.
• Assisting with the preparation of Corporate tax activities;
• Responsible for the maintenance of SOX narratives;
• Manage the delivery of the SOX deadlines for testing;
• Development of a SOX compliance testing plan;
• Support the budget & strategic planning process

This position will enable you to undertake an operational level role that has elements of business partnering across the organisation whilst undertaking some project driven responsibilities.
