Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join their growing finance team.

Daily tasks

To contribute as a team member to the activities of the Finance Department, and to provide a full range of services to
various Divisions and Departments including, but not limited to, those listed below:

1. Provide advice and guidance on organisational financial policies, regulations, procedures, and best practice, and
ensure compliance with financial regulations, delegated powers and standing orders in all transactions, undertakings
and procurement of goods and services.
2.Set annual budgets inline with organisations policies and the relevant Resource Centre Manager's (RCM's) business
plans and objectives.
3.Provide advice and assistance to RCMs in relation to the financial aspects of their development bids and
identification of savings and efficiencies
4.Produce timely and accurate budget monitoring statements and financial management reports, present these to the
RCM, and provide advice and guidance on any corrective action required and the best utilisation of budgetary
resources.
5.Certification of creditor payments (invoices) and payroll claims (overtime, travel, expenses, etc.), and the raising of
debtor requisitions.
6.Monitor debtors reports and liase with with RCM.
7.Reconciliation and review of petty cash and other cash amounts.
8.Attend DMMs to provide financial updates.
9.Complete the end of year closedown of accounts including the preparation of creditor and debtor schedules and the
provision of advice to RCMs on the carry forward of uncommitted budget.
10.Production of additional reports as directed.
11.Ad hoc project work as directed.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Good practical knowledge of accounting processes and techniques 2. AAT qualified 3. Ability to work independently within defined limits 4.Able to use computerised systems, spreadsheet (preferably Excel) and word processing (preferably Word) packages. 5. Ability to liaise with people at all levels. 6.Proven ability to work within strict time deadlines. 7.Good communication skills, both written and verbal. 8. Ability to attend meetings away from normal place of work. 9.Experience of financial management including budget monitoring and setting.
