Job Description

This vacancy is a highly sought-after position. The firm, which currently has eight partners and employs over 100 staff at offices in Hull and Barton, has seen an increase in new clients who are seeking full-service audit and accountancy support. As a mid-size firm, they are able to build strong relationships with their clients and fully understand their needs whilst being large enough to offer a depth of expertise normally seen within larger firms. The successful Audit or Accounts Manager candidate will be adding to the highly experienced team and will integral to maintaining and enhancing the work currently being undertaken with the firm.

To be the successful applicant for the role of Audit or Accounts Manager you will have a proven track record of success and achievement within accountancy practice.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACA or ACCA Qualification. Demonstrable ability of managing teams. Experience of managing a client portfolio within an SME market. Planning and executing audit and /or accounting duties in a client facing field Knowledge of acting as an intermediary between clients, colleagues and other departments within the business. The desire to continuously improve technical proficiency. Ability to liaise with partners and communicate instructions clearly to other members of staff. Competency to review completed files for partners, giving the appropriate feedback and guidance to supervisors/seniors. Knowledge of how to review and approve budgets and staff resourcing prior to the commencement of the assignment. Proactively managing your workload whilst also managing various teams engaged on different assignments. Demonstrable ability to ‘add value’ to the Smailes Goldie Group and their clients through commercial cross selling of services within the Group. Experience of managing and supervising junior members of staff to aid their development. The desire to represent the Smailes Goldie brand at events where required.
