Job Description

Key to this role will be the following responsibilities;

• Working in partnership with private investors and MD to ensure correct financial control, governance and strategy planning is in place.
• Work closely with operational leads to ensure contracts, legal documents and patents are all watertight in terms of financial risk, exposure, and liability.
• Develop a costing system with operational heads and sales ensuring end to end transparency of costs
• Working closely with HMRC to ensure all R&D and tax avenues are explored for the business
• Oversee statutory and financial reporting obligations whilst ensure the correct process, control and systems are developed concurrently with the growth of the business.

Potentially help gear the business toward an IPO within the next 3 years

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

As Finance Director, this position is targeting a qualified ACA/ACMA or ACCA accountant likely operating at Financial Control level wishing to step up to Finance Director or a Finance Director currently in a small SME that has seen them through similar growth or change. Exposure to the utility and/or manufacturing sector would be a distinct advantage in this role. In summary and great opportunity to earn your way into equity as Finance Director and see the business rapidly scale up and take them through an IPO the other end.
