We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. We love team players who'll be happy to get stuck into ad hoc requests and new opportunities too!

A day in the life:

• Managing the purchase and sales ledger by posting and raising invoices, raising POs, preparing payment runs, dealing with customer queries
• Accurately recording invoices with correct nominal, budget and product codes
• Matching POs and invoices, ensuring compliance with the delegate authority framework
• Reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts, bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash & control accounts
• Processing of prepayments and accruals
• Assisting with the month end process
• Assisting with ad hoc projects

About you:

• You’ll enjoy working autonomously and take responsibility for the smooth running of the purchase ledger
• You’ll be energetic, motivated, customer focused and drive to deliver great customer service both internally and externally
• You’ll be naturally numerate, with excellent attention to detail
• You’ll have intermediate Excel skills and be keen to keep upskilling!
• You're a self-starter with a few years at the most accounts payable experience
• You'll have some understanding of VAT
• You always take a proactive approach to solving problems and be confident to ask for help when needed
• You may be starting to think about training for an accounting qualification (ACCA)
