Job Description
  • Leading the move towards a more automated strategy that is fit for purpose: New data and new account management strategies.
  • Manage all credit risk aspects of the SME and Corporate portfolios reviewing and amending Criteria where necessary in order to ensure that the business is in line with the agreed Risk Appetite for the portfolio.
  • Lead the oversight and challenge on the development of new products, marketing and pricing campaigns that affects the risk profile of the customer and portfolio.
  • Monitor and report on the performance against all key metrics including forward looking views with early escalation of trends and variations to ensure continued adherence to agreed Bank Risk Appetite.
  • Responsible for defining parameters for ability to measure, monitor and control current and anticipated performance of the portfolios at all stages of the credit life cycle.
  • Define credit risk portfolio management requirements and own the associated monitoring, control and forecasting requirements – this would encompass stress testing, portfolio behavior and impairment loss ranges and overall credit quality.
  • Participate fully in cross-functional projects/investigations affecting the Corporate/SME Portfolio, ensuring requirements are understood and delivered to plan.
  • Drive improvements in individual and team performance and contributions. This will involve personally coaching & monitoring colleagues to support their development

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive experience of corporate/SME credit risk management and associated analytical techniques and practices. This should include good knowledge of scorecards, stress testing & forecasting. Persuasiveness and inter-personal influencing skills, particularly at senior management level. Strong understanding of acquisition, customer management and arrears processes, systems and practices along with commercial, financial and legislative requirements and issues affecting the wider financial services industry. Planning and organization expertise, including proven track record within a credit risk management environment in developing creative solutions to complex issues and delivery within defined timescales. Proven leadership capability and have core strengths in stakeholder management. Proven presentation skills, both written and verbal.
