Job Description

Working around the North of the UK successful candidates will: –

  • Undertake and record street works compliance audits across all stages of network installation
  • Promote and oversee corrective action on recorded shortfalls
  • Promote Health & Safety at work
  • Give technical, client specification, and NRASWA legislation guidance to operations staff
  • Deliver minor network and NRASWA related internal training TBT's
  • Attend internal, client, and Local Authority meetings to build sound and sustainable relationships
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, attend JSI’s and oversee reinstatement defect reduction
  • Inspect & test FPE and WAH equipment (harnesses/ladders)
  • Influence and promote consistent improvement, quality, and performance
  • Support MAP Group (UK)’s Compliance Manager

Successful candidates would benefit from being conversant with all aspects of fibre installation and telecom network builds including Fibre to the Property (FTTP) Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) and traditional underground, and overhead installation techniques. Applicants from other street works installation areas would be considered.

Successful candidates will have strong team and team influencing skills, be confident and comfortable working in partnerships and possess civils installation knowledge and experience. A keen eye for quality and specification, an absolute must to have experience in Sign, Lighting, and Guarding, the SROH, and the Local Authority process for reinstatement defects is also desirable.

Strong IT literacy, good knowledge of Microsoft packages, confident in writing, reporting and presenting audit and other data and other required information at all levels is a minimum requirement for this role as is a methodical, positive can-do team working attitude to positively influence others.

Civils Supervisors looking to advance their experience and skill sets may be ideal for this role.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Vast knowledge of the Red Book and the SROH (essential). A Full UK Driving License (essential). BT Openreach or similar craft and safety accreditations (desirable). NRASWA accreditation – supervisor level (expired considered). Experience of UG and OH networks. Experience of Civils installations - utility's. Knowledge of Street Works Permitting. Good communication and I.T. skills with a professional attitude.
