BBF are looking for a Quality Systems Auditor to join the team. You will ensure product safety, quality and legality through effective HACCP and Quality Systems.

Purpose of the Role

To develop and monitor the quality systems in the achievement of continuous improvement in quality of performance and cost. Providing expertise and support to the bakery operations, championing local project improvement initiatives. Communicating and implementing the requirements of our company Group Technical Standards through the application and development of best practice. Ensuring that all products are safe, legal and compliant with customer specifications.

Reporting into the QA Manager and working as a team of 5 Systems Auditors on separate shifts. This role is to develop and monitor the quality systems at the Blackburn and Shadsworth Bakeries.

The role will manage the internal auditing systems (i.e. Glass & Plastic audit, GMP audit, HACCP audit) and ensure that all audits are completed to the agreed frequency and that all close outs are completed in a timely manner.
Daily taste panels production samples shall be completed with a cross functional team and shall be carried out by the Quality Systems Auditor. All actions from the panels shall be communicated across the bakery.

Working with the QA Manager and team

  • To ensure that quality management systems, operating practices and process controls are developed, implemented and adhered to by staff to deliver consistent quality performance and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • To advise the site teams on company standards relating to GMP, food safety, quality and hygiene.
  • To promote and develop technical service competency and continuously challenge and improve technical operational effectiveness.
  • Develop initiatives which enhance the manufacturing operation through reduced costs and improved quality, particularly in areas such as process monitoring & control.

Key Accountabilities

  • Escalation of non-conformances raised during internal and external audits.
  • Monitoring of systems to ensure compliance to company and regulatory standards concerning food safety, hygiene and quality.
  • Monitoring and reviewing of performance targets within Technical. Using Indicators to improve areas such as consumer complaint levels, pest control management, QAS results and audit scores.
  • Development and monitoring of defined working practices to deliver continuous improvement in environmental hygiene and regular validation of these cleaning practices.
  • Ensure all products are meeting agreed QAS with customers. With a daily internal product assessment completed and actions escalated.
  • Ensure that production samples are collected as per schedule.
  • Following site allergen risk assessment by completing allergen swabbing as per schedule.
  • Act as the site technical best practice champion, integrating standards/policies into manufacturing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
At least 1 years technical/ hygiene experience with a clear track record of achievement, preferably within food manufacturing. A highly motivated, determined, and enthusiastic individual. PC literate.
