GovData are recruiting a professional Bid Support Professional with a background in Business Management, Commercial Information and Logistics and Transport within our Professional Services Pillar to manage tender submissions in partnership with our customers.
You may have previous background working in a service-related area with a detailed knowledge of Quality Assurance, Transport and Storage, Risk, Energy and Environmental Management, Financial Services, Sustainability.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication, good process management, good document management, and be confident in providing service assurance.
You may also possess strong organization & priority management, commercial acumen and at least 2 years’ experience in a bid and proposals or similar role.
This position is based in Warrington, commutable from Manchester, Liverpool, St Helens, Widnes, Wigan, Leigh and Lymm, Chester, Preston, and Runcorn.
As a Bid Support Professional, you will work within the Delivery Team and be responsible for managing the quality of bid submissions in response to customer engagements. This will facilitate the successful listing of a client onto Public Sector Frameworks as well as specific open tender responses. As a Bid Support Professional within Professional Services you will be responsible for:
· Conducting all First Reviews of all content provided by our Customers to match all content against a set criterion.
· Ensure that content is ready to be reviewed by the Bid Reviewer and feedback to the Account Executive any gaps within documents to be then feedback to the customer to ensure that they understand the requirements of the tender in full.
· Ensuring that all questions have been answered in line with guidance provided.
· Producing clear and concise feedback to ensure that customers fully understand the information being requested.
· Working with the Account Executives to ensure that all content received by the customer is ready to be reviewed.
· Drafting and Creating Feedback within 48 Hours of Receipt of a Bid from a Customer.
· Intelligence Gathering in our Pre-Live Engagement with our Customers to ensure that the Bid Function has all the required information to produce a consistent, clear, and structured delivery of a Product to our Customers.
· Maintaining the Bid Repository and Knowledgebase to ensure that our Bid Function is well informed and up to date with the latest procurement news, government standards, and accreditations.
· Liaising with Account Executives within the Delivery Function to relay feedback to Customers.
· Producing advice and guidance to our customers on tender documents, procurement law, and on specific products which the Bid Function will work on.
· Collating feedback from all stages of review to assist in the formulation of Quality Reports on Customer Bid Submissions.
· Working with a Bid Team with a clear structure consisting of: Account Executives, Bid Support Professionals, Bid Reviewers, Senior Bid Reviewers, Commercial Bid Analyst, Head Of Account Management and a Pillar Bid Manager.
· Assisting the Product Launch Process within GovData to identify relevant and attractive products for our customer.
· To take part in Bid Start-Up Meetings or what we term our “Go-Dark Phase” where we will analyze, breakdown, and pull apart tender documents.
· Create documents for Customers to complete to assist in the Bid Submission Process.
· Providing Ad Hoc support to other elements of the Bid Function where required.
· Managing your own personal development plan and developing your industry-specific knowledge to assist GovData in its aims to achieve 100% Success in everything we do.
Essential skills:
· You may also have previous experience and prior knowledge of RFI’s and RFP’s.
· Previous Experience of Working within a Service Assurance Role
· Experience and expertise of supply chain logistics
· Experience of managing third party logistics
· A good understanding of international freight movement and transportation
· Experience with warehousing and storage operation
· Experience of working with a variety of finance systems
· Experience of working within a Commercial Finance Management role
· Demonstrated agility to balance strategic (big picture) and analytical (detail orientation) approaches
· Proven experience in a customer focused role
· Experience and oversight of the end to end service delivery process
· Working knowledge of regulatory standard ISO9001 and ISO14001
· Experience in a Quality Assurance environment
· Experience of managing service processes to Energy and Environmental standards
Qualifications
Essential:
· Degree educated. (Desirable: Operational Management)
Desirable:
· Chartered Member of Institute of Logistics and Transport
· Logistics Operations Management Qualification
· Project Management Certification e.g. APMP or PRINCE2
Proven capability in delivering winning tenders for complex product or services opportunities. Ideally will have a background in solutions and services and experience of bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery, and will provide valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions, and solution design.
