Accounts Assistant

Based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, our client is a reputable company looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.

This job would suit a candidate who has previously worked within a finance department who will be assisting with the reconciliation and preparation of invoices for the company. The job will also involve communicating with internal and external departments and assisting, when necessary, with other departments within finance and administration.

This company is a well-established and leading specialist within their field. It is a fast-growing business with consistent year on year growth, and ongoing growth planner.

The successful individual will have previous bookkeeping experience with good knowledge of Sage 50 and accounting software. The candidate should have strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy. This is suited for an individual with analytical and problem-solving skills as well as good level competence in Excel with the ability to proactively work independently and in a team.

Duties will include:

  • Responsibility for maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Setting up payments via online banking for authorisation.
  • Checking company bank statements and reconciling.
  • Preparing and processing payroll using Sage Payroll.
  • Processing VAT returns.
  • Dealing with and maintaining general financial paperwork and filing.
  • Credit control - chasing due payments and helping to resolve accounts queries.
  • Other general administrative activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bookkeeping experience with good knowledge of Sage 50 and accounting software
