Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for a Production Section Manager working in our Department which controls the mixes of product and ovens for one of our major areas.

Responsibilities Include

  • Manage the financial KPI’s of the production area to an agreed standard.
  • Ensure that production targets are met within agreed deadlines, making best use of resources and materials.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Charge Hands, and staff ensuring that departmental procedures/standards are maintained and skills are developed to support business requirements. There are approximately 50 people you will be responsible for.
  • Promote ‘Best in Class’ standards for Health & Safety, ensuring the company’s Health & Safety systems and policies are strictly adhered too.
  • Effectively communicate at all levels on matters regarding quality, service, and people issues.
  • Ensure that customers (internal and external) receive a high standard of service and the area is presented at all times at peak standard with auditors and customers.
  • Develop staff training and liaise with the Bakery Manager.
  • Drive improvements in GMP/Hygiene.
  • Participate in cross-functional team working.
  • Support the Bakery Manager and Business Unit Manager as required.

Hours of Work Core hours of Monday to Friday 1pm – 9pm and Friday 12noon to 8pm, although you will be expected to work flexibly around hours of work in order to accommodate business requirements as necessary.

Package: Salary circa £30,000 per annum + Benefits including 25 days holiday a year and 8 statutory holidays, Money purchase pension scheme with 5% contribution of salary, Discount scheme operating across several online and high street retailers


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good influencing skills with experience of managing 20+ people in a factory environment. Organization skills, and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, and to deliver multiple targets simultaneously. Leadership skills to lead people and also experience of managing issues including skills, absence and discipline.
