Job Description

As Financial Controller, you will report to the Managing Partner.

Your key duties will include:

• You will undertake and supervise the day to day financial activities including preparation of monthly financial reports, management accounts, VAT returns, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, valuation adjustments, accruals and prepayments, and provide information to compile year-end statutory accounts.
• Responsible for preparing annual budgets and cash flow projections with the Managing Partner and Finance Director and monitor the performance of each entity within the Estate in line with their set budgets.
• To deliver management information in a timely manner, meeting deadlines agreed with the Managing Partner and Finance Director.
• To implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.
• Other responsibilities regularly include payroll, insurance policies, and cover and the management of book debt.
• To work closely with the Farm Manager and the Estate Property Manager.
• Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management to include variance analysis against budget.

This Financial Controller, position is a Full-Time position. On offer is a £40,000- £45,000  (depending on experience).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

ACCA / ICAEW qualification or qualified by experience Commercial management accounting experience required Knowledge of a farm business advantage but not essential Organisation and co-ordination Effective communication skills to liaise with other departments Confident in forecasting and preparing budgets Excellent IT skills Training and delegation skills Efficient in producing and analysing financial reports
