Purpose of the role

To lead the division’s finance function with preparing, reviewing and distributing accurate daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reports. Support the provision of accurate and timely financial analysis and the understanding of financial performance.

Core Business Responsibilities

The role will encompass the following: -

  • Maintain strong financial control and governance across all financial operations
  • Lead the finance team to provide an accurate and timely financial service including setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, payroll, management and financial accounts and advice and support to inform decision making at all levels
  • Funds Management, including forecasting of cash flow positions ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements, as well as mitigating financial risks
  • Ensure that the FD is appraised of key financial issues
  • Overall responsibility for all statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts and VAT
  • Oversee the finance team in developing finance policies and procedures as well as ensuring that these are being consistently followed including customer and supplier contracts, purchase orders, HMRC submissions relating to payroll, pensions and credit control
  • Alongside the Business Unit Accountant and Group Shared Services manage the audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors to ensure statutory accounts are produced on time
  • Ensure that budgets and management accounts accurately reflect the business activity
  • Report on the overall business risk assessment
  • Monitoring key economic and financial variables impacting on the company's business strategy
  • Provide financial expertise and input on strategic matters
  • Lead, develop, monitor and evaluate direct and indirect reports
  • Timely management of the HMRC and pension monthly payment submissions, payments and controls
  • Timely management of the annual P11D submissions
