Job Description

An established international retail specialist, based in Manchester city Centre, are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to assist them during an extremely busy period.

The Role and Responsibilities of the Management Accountant position will include:

• Support with all aspects of the month end close.
• To support periodic management accounts/variance analysis in accordance with agreed deadlines and controls.
• Support monthly and quarterly group consolidation including group reporting pack collation and submission.
• To assist in the preparation and production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts including cash forecasts in accordance with agreed deadlines. Challenge management and assumptions appropriately to ensure budgets and forecasts are accurate.
• Responsibility for the balance sheet controls and reconciliations. Support in the review of a portfolio of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure these stand up to audit challenge.
• Support the Finance Manager to ensure a consistent approach to accounting policy across the business travel group.
• Support the Finance Manager and FD to ensure a consistent approach to financial policy, procedure, compliance and controls across the group.
• To assist in the improvement and development of relevant and accurate management and accounting information delivered to operational management and heads of department. Liaise with management to resolve information requirements and queries as and when they occur. Provide financial support to non-finance managers.
• To establish good working relationships with internal and external functions. Attend meetings as appropriate and provide ad hoc reports to all levels of internal and external clients as required.
• Support in preparation statutory financial statements and act as a key contact in the legal entity statutory audits.
• Support the Finance Manager and FD in ad-hoc projects. Opportunity to lead own ad-hoc projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Be ideally CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified or QBE and overseas equivalent. Have strong excel and systems skills. Have proven experience within previous Management Accountant roles. Be comfortable liaising with stakeholders. Be available at short notice.
