Job Description

The position is mainly home based, however you may be required to travel to work or for training purposes within the Wakefield district. The flexibility required for working hours is between 9am & 8pm Monday to Sunday, but not exceeding a 37 hour working week. To provide administrative support to the Local Contact Tracing Service (LCTS) To provide assistance in the development, continuity and effective use of information and service intelligence across the Local Contact Tracing Service. To provide data inputting support and data quality checks to statutory and localized reporting requirements in compliance with operational agreements, and in compliance with relevant legislation, local and national policy or guidance. This includes NHS Test and Trace system, Environmental Health Systems and Public Health Intelligence systems To assist in the support and administration of work in the LCTS. To assist in the wider development, continuity and effective use of business and service intelligence in line with the council’s strategic objectives as set out in the District Outcomes Framework.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our clients are generally seeking applicants who are reasonably local, so on that basis we would ideally like you to supply us with your address (or at least your post code) and a telephone number so that we can reach you during working hours. Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this. Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice. Five GCSE or equivalent passes including Math and English or relevant administrative or business qualification. Significant experience at an Officer level within a comparable organization. Have developed an understanding for working with data to support effective operational service delivery. Some experience of working across partnerships, services, or departmental boundaries. An understanding of statutory/regulatory data provision requirement relevant to the public health and the current national COVID19 test and trace programme. Understanding of the information flows associated to the national test and trace programme. Understanding of Public Health reporting and core datasets. Strong knowledge of maintaining data quality standards. An outline knowledge and awareness of relevant local, regional, and national initiatives within the service area; relevant policy, legislation and procedures. Understanding and working with the Data Protection Act and information security policy. An understanding of data security and confidential issues. An outline knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act and supporting the response to requests appropriately. A competent and proficient working knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications. An understanding of statistical analysis software, data visualization Some knowledge of data manipulation techniques; performance reporting. Competent ICT skills; specifically relational databases, spreadsheets. Understanding outbreak management information processes. Commitment to working with people/teams in both traditional and matrix management structures. Experience of Customer Care. Understand the aims and objectives of the council, including the specific objectives of the children’s directorate. Commitment to contribute to the development of services which are timely and responsive to the customers need. Any local authority/public sector experience. Any relevant qualifications held or being studied for.
