Tax Accountant - Blue-chip Technologu Company - Hatfield - £50k-£65k + great benefits package
Our clients are hiring for a UK Tax Accountant for a leading, listed, blue-chip technology company based in Hatfield.
The role comes with a salary in the region of £50,000 to £65,000 plus a great benefits package.
Working as part of a newly-created in-house tax team, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for the tax affairs of the company in the UK, and will support on the tax affairs of the company as it expands in Europe.
The role is corporate tax focused but also includes work on indirect taxes and employment taxes.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the formulation of tax policies for the Group in the UK
- SAO Compliance (Monitoring and reviewing the risk registers and presenting to senior management)
- Reviewing legislation changes and writing technical notes on the impacts from a Group perspective
- Support the timely and accurate filing of the tax returns for all UK companies in close co-operation with the Group's tax advisors (approx 11 entities).
- Responsibility for meeting UK compliance deadlines, for example in country-by-country reporting and Corporate Interest Restriction
- Ownership and responsible for pulling together the tax provision notes for the year end audited group accounts
- Lead and manage the contact with and providing assistance to the Group's auditors
- Liaising with HMRC on outstanding queries and enquiries
- Writing internal training courses for AP/AR on how to read invoices and code them correctly into the systems
- Liasing with external advisors in preparation of UK, and international, tax returns for secondees
- Providing support to supply chain teams to provide Customs and Excise support
- Supporting the commercial departments around the Group
- Lead & own the tax team's relationship with other finance teams (e.g. Carrier bag treatment, new commercial product launches, quarterly RDEC reporting)
- Support the business in adhoc day to day tax queries and be their go-to contact for UK tax related queries
The company is looking for a qualified accountant or tax advisor (ACA / ACCA / CTA / ICAS) with good UK corporate tax experience.
Experience in international tax, indirect tax or employment tax would be beneficial, but is not required.
