Job Description
  • To undertake all duties as set out in the Payroll Officer dependent on the team working within.
  • To work alongside the Team leader whilst taking direction from them to support all aspects of the Team Leaders day to day duties when absent.
  • To comply with statutory and company payroll procedures and deadlines
  • To cover all Team Leaders roles during times of absence in respect of processing work only.
  • To be responsible for all testing requirements, for all brands and perform actual testing as agreed
  • To help and support the payroll teams, by ensuring all Team Leaders directions are being met effectively.
  • To train and support the Department by assisting the Team Leader to ensure all new and existing staff members know each task to be completed.
  • To have knowledge of all aspects of Payroll procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as agreed by the Team Leader.
  • To take ownership of Payroll processes and coordinate reviews as required as directed by the Team Leader.
  • To uphold the values as set in the REACH programme including AOM tasks and to comply with any audit requests effectively.
  • To write SOPS and to PC SOPS within your area and to check the Payroll Officer's SOPS.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Achieving weekly Payroll deadlines
  • Following all administration procedures both internal and statutory
  • Accurate and timely data input
  • Feedback from Branches and Regional Managers

  • Understanding of Payroll systems as well as manual calculations

WE WILL REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE EXPERIENCE OF

  • Payroll systems/procedure and processes covering the following, pensions, statutory calculations, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Assisting with changes to any payroll related pension scheme activity.
  • Leading a Team
  • Prioritising workloads
  • Year-end completion and reconciliation
  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally CIPP qualified, or equivalent Experience of Tempest advantageous or Accord for the Group Payroll Experience of migrating a payroll department and all systems
