Job Description

The key points we are looking for in a candidate are their ability to complete the following functions. These are important as we are a large fleet dealer supplying thousands of vehicles a year.

• Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and with explanation of significant variances from budget, prior year, Composite averages etc.
• Prepare and submit the monthly Composite
• Prepare cash flow forecasts to timetable as agreed with the Directors
• Prepare the annual budgets in co-operation with the senior managers and Directors
• Prepare the year end statutory accounts including the schedules required by the Auditors
• Prepare the quarterly VAT return and monthly PAYE/NI returns
• Responsibility for reconciling all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis including, but not limited to, bank and finance company credit lines, cash floats, debtors, creditors
• Ensure action plans are in place to address overdue debts and over age stock
• Prepare the monthly payroll
• Oversee the Accounts Department functions including vehicle stock books, purchase and sales ledgers and cashier function
• Ensure strong financial controls are in place to support all systems and processes in the Accounts Department.
