Job Description

 This role will be a key player to aid in completing our month end and providing support for our Year end audit. 

Key Responsibilities for Accounts Assistant:

  • Produce weekly and monthly management accounting information on a timely and accurate basis
  • Ownership of the EUR, USD and GBP cashbooks, to be monitored on a weekly basis
  • Assist the Accounts Payable team in processing invoices and expenses either approved by PO or alternatively by Relevant Manager and debit notes to the Accounts Payable and General Ledgers
  • Assist the Accounts receivable team in putting received cash onto our ERP system
  • Key contact within the accounts team to support the needs of providing information and analysis for the sales and marketing team
  • Joint Ownership of our intercompany accounts, working closely with the Accounts payable manager
  • Provide support to the Management accountant on completing the Intrastat and EC Sales on a monthly basis, with a view to take full ownership
  • Provide support to the Management accountant on completing the monthly VAT return, with a view to take full ownership
  • Work with Accounts Payable manager to review and clear-down the unvouchered ledger on a monthly basis
  • Ownership of a number of balance sheet reqs that will be reconciled and reviewed to be audit ready on a monthly basis
  • Provide finance business partnering support to the wider company, working in cross functional teams to support or lead project work
  • Provide support to the accounts team during the annual audit
  • Provide holiday cover when required for other members of the finance team
  • Provide support to other members of the team as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Started or looking to start CIMA/ACCA 12 months experience within an accounts function, preferably manufacturing background Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Word and advanced Excel user Experience of using FourthShift desirable, although training will be provided Previous experience of Manufacturing sector would be beneficial
