Financial Accountant - 18 Months FTC + Benefits

My client are a city based Professional Services company who are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant for an 18 month FTC (Mat Cover). As a Financial Accountant you will be working in the business' head office by Bank Tube Station. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the wider finance team supporting them and provide them with your high quality technical financial accounting experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Working with the Parent Company internal audit team and ensuring compliance with the relevant SOX controls across the whole of the company
• Calculating and posting monthly journals
• Preparing accurate and fully supported balance sheet reconciliations (Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Prepayments etc)
• Investigating variances and correcting errors where necessary,
• Identifying areas for improvement and streamlining processes
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports for the company owners, monthly and quarterly
• Providing technical IFRS advice/assistance to the finance team where required and to assess and account for any impact following changes to reporting standards for both UK and US GAAP
• Preparation of the company Statutory Accounts, in accordance with IFRS

Skills Required:

• Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - 3 Years Post Qualified
• Experience in Audit or Financial Accounting
• Strong technical finance knowledge
• Experience on working collaboratively in a team
• Advanced excel skills

The successful person will be Qualified Accountant with prior experience of preparing or auditing group accounts. You will be enthusiastic, willing to get stuck in and have strong technical financial accounting background.
