Job Description

The Ideal candidate will be someone with a good knowledge of accounting, all Microsoft Packages and strong verbal and written communication skills. You will have strong, all round finance and administration skills and be happy to work as part of a small team. You will need to be much organised with a good eye for detail.                                                                                 

Purpose of role

To support the finance and administration of the charity.

Primary tasks                                                                                                        

  1. Finance
  • Processing of sales & purchase invoices onto QuickBooks accounting system, ensuring correct coding
  • Expense document checking and analysis
  • Communicating with suppliers to minimising invoice queries to ensure timely payments
  • Monitoring client accounts and chasing overdue payments by telephone, email and correspondence
  • Reconcile and prepare invoices for weekly payment run for review
  • Checking purchasing invoices received

2. Administrator

  • Acting as a key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with the general running of the office, providing support as and when necessary
  • Ensure the document are filed in the correct place
  • Act in the best interests of CHT and its clients, and to promote CHT’s values and value in all conversations and situations
  • To take part in various duties appropriate to being a member of the CHT Staff Team
  • Monitoring & ordering of stationery and cleaning supplies for head office
  • Liaising with office cleaners, photocopier maintenance, property administrator and others
  • Receiving and distribution of post 
  • To take part in regular meetings, supervisions, and appraisals
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by the company

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
AAT Qualified / Degree in Accounting Administration experience Financial literacy Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under own initiative to prioritise and manage varied tasks. Excellent organization skills and administration ability including computer literacy (word, excel etc). Interest in issues relating to mental health. Keen interest to work in the voluntary / charity sector.
