Job Description

The business have a highly successful track record in their industry and they now have a need for a further member of staff. The role as Assistant Accountant will be to join the finance function of the company working closely with the head of finance and the commercial director however also the wider personnel of the workplace. The role will require someone to have an all-round focus on areas including credit control, purchase ledger, month end duties plus general reporting & administration.

Day to day responsibilities for the role will involve but not be limited to the following:

  • Managing day to day debtors
  • Credit control duties
  • Purchase ledger duties
  • Posting supplier invoices
  • Reconciliations
  • Month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Telephone, email & face to face query handling
  • Reporting
  • Data inputting
  • Updating of spreadsheets
  • General administration

The role will be working Monday to Friday with working hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm and the client is looking to offer a salary dependent on experience of between £22,000K to £25,000K per annum plus additional benefits on offer such as:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A previous career background and experience within a finance & accounting function AAT Level 4 Qualified or in the process of completing Level 4 General MS Office skills including MS Excel up to a V Look Up & Pivot Table standard Previous experience working with Opera would be highly advantageous however not essential Excellent communication skills & telephone manner A high level of attention to detail and accuracy The ability to work alone or as part of a team with a flexible approach to duties undertaken The ability to carry out instruction and meet deadlines Driven & self-motivated The ability to commit to a full time permanent role based at the office in St Albans
