Job Description
To succeed, you will need:
- To be an efficient, and accurate Assistant Accountant with an attention to detail
- To have a thorough understanding of how the Accounting Function works
- Experience of working within an accounts department or in a stand-alone role
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, being able to prioritise your own workload and respond to competing priorities while supporting the team during busier periods
- The ability and motivation to work on your own initiative and operate with colleagues across multiple sites
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to take on new skills and adopt new approaches, developing both yourself and others around you
- A minimum of Intermediate level competency in Microsoft Excel
You’ll really hit the ground running if you have:
- Previous experience in the commercial vehicles and vehicle rentals industry
- Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Part or fully AAT qualified
Once the job is yours, you will be expected to:
- Be responsible for the Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation
- Post cash receipts and bank reconciliations
- Manage the Warranty Claim Reconciliation
- Assist in the preparation of payroll together with the related control account reconciliations
- Renault Dealer Management System (RDMS) to Microsoft Dynamics parts stock reconciliation
- Assist in Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Provide support to purchase ledger clerk including dealing with queries on more problematic accounts and assisting in supplier statement reconciliations
- Provide holiday cover for sales and purchase ledger clerks
- Assist in implementation of software for document management and optical character recognition (OCR) for purchase ledger
- Assist in implementing additional technology/system features across the finance function
- Provide support or lead on Ad hoc tasks and projects for the Management Accountant and Finance Manager
