We are looking for a strong Assistant Accountant to join the business on a fixed term contract role within finance. You will ideally be CIMA/ACCA part-qualified, have experience with monthly management accounts and strong Excel knowledge (VLOOKUPs, Pivots)
Role:
Month end duties including prepayments, accrual, journals.
Review of Trial Balances and General Ledger
Assist in preparing monthly management accounts
P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, comparing actuals to budget and forecast
Preparation and production of board reports with detailed commentary
Monthly balance sheet, and P&L reconciliations for subsidiaries within the group
Assist with yearend and audit procedures/documents
Preparation of quarterly banking compliance work.
Preparation of the annual management accounts budgets for strategic groups within the group, alongside Finance Manager.
Liaising with Managers internally to set budgets based on agreed costs and projections
Assist finance team with improving processes and procedures within the finance function, to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant role with the above knowledge Part qualified CIMA or ACCA desired Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the knowledge of VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables. Excellent communication skills, ability to present/discuss financial information with non-finance stakeholders Able to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
