Your new role
In this role as Finance Manager / Assistant Management Accountant you will be responsible for collating financial data from a cluster of Schools, checking actual spend vs. budget, updating any capital project spends, monitoring cash flow (approx. £50m income), checking control accounts, nominal ledger postings and checking payroll journals etc. The key aspect of the role will be assisting the Head of Finance and the management accountant in the day-to-day reporting on the group and assisting the finance admin clerks with accurate recording of these weekly & monthly submissions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have an AAT Qualification and experience of preparing management accounts therefore you will be very confident with trial balance, cash flow analysis as well as accurals and pre-payments etc. As this is a Head Office role supporting the group you will need to have experience of budgeting, forecasting and monitoring any capital spend. Cash flow is essential to any business so experience of recording income and nominal coding is essential.
